The History of Laurel BPW Founded in 1956 by Naomi Hewlett Madison, the Laurel Business and Professional Women's Club (LBPW) still meets in the Laurel area on the third Wednesday evening each month. Membership in LBPW is open to women and men who support the mission of BPW/USA. LBPW is part of the Maryland Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW/md), formed in 1929.
